"V-1" Spindle
Design Requirements

This front pilot type of spindle locates in a bushing below the part.

It can rest on the bushing or on the stop collar and the part.

The part tolerance plus the T.I.R. must not exceed the total indicator travel.

Min. size of pilot "B" is .250.

To obtain a gage fit for pilot dia. "B" lapping of bushing is recommended.


To check large bores


To check squareness or face location


SOME SPECIAL CONTACTS

A pressure pad or collet on the pilot diameter "B" permits location in one part diameter to check concentricity or squareness. (See "V" spindle)
