Compensation for Part Variations
Zero Gage Co. hydraulic arbors and chucks conform to the part locating surface by producing an equally distributed holding force that provides positive centering accuracy to compensate for intolerance variations such as bellmouth and out-of-round. During a sequence of operations, from the same part locating surface, Zero Gage Co. hydraulic arbors and chucks consistently locate the part on its geometric centerline.
For Zero Gage Co. hydraulic arbors and chucks the gripping action is complete throughout the area of contact between the expanding or contracting section of the sleeve. Uniform hydraulic pressure assures part positioning on the actual centerline, compensating for

allowable taper. For example, a part with a .004 tolerance on the part locating diameter could have a .004 taper, and still be in-tolerance. Therefore, subsequent machining operations for this part using Zero Gage Co. hydraulic arbors and chucks eliminates accumulation of in-tolerance part variations.
