STANDARD ZERO SWEEP UNITS USED

Model VA sweep gage is combined with a ball arbor to check

A. Concentricity bore to bore
B. (same as above)
C. Squareness of face to bore

Similar type design is used to check angled seat to bore centricity

Standard zero center assemblies are used between centers

Ball arbor positions part axis

Concentricity or squareness is checked using a dial test set or special fixed gages

Part is loaded into a ball chuck and zero sweep units or depth units are positioned to suit

Part is rotated freely on it's true axis

O.D. runout in two places as well as both faces are read on the indicators

Part is positioned radially by a diamond locator

Fixed bushing blocks are positioned around part O.D. zero sweep unit checks locations & squareness of four cross holes
